LZ Events is proud to have partnered with the Transnet Foundation for the impactful “Shoes on Feet” campaign—a heartwarming initiative that provided 5,000 pairs of shoes to children from underprivileged communities across South Africa. This national campaign, held at the start of the new school year, aimed to alleviate the challenges faced by many learners who walk long distances to school without adequate footwear. 

The shoes, collected from generous Transnet employees nationwide, were distributed to deserving children, giving them not just shoes, but also a renewed sense of dignity, comfort, and motivation as they embarked on their academic year. The campaign saw the active involvement of the Transnet Executive Committee (Exco), including the Group Chief Executive (GCE), who personally participated in the distribution events, reinforcing the organization’s commitment to social responsibility and community upliftment. 

As the event coordination partner, LZ Events played a crucial role in the seamless execution of this large-scale initiative.

Our responsibilities included: 

• Logistics Management: Coordinating the collection, transportation, and distribution of 5,000 pairs of shoes to multiple communities across the country. 

• Event Planning and Execution: Organizing events at various school locations to ensure the handover of shoes was a memorable and joyful experience for the children, their families, and the broader community. 

• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborating with Transnet leadership and community representatives to facilitate meaningful interactions during the campaign events. 

The smiles on the children’s faces as they received their new shoes were a testament to the success of the “Shoes on Feet” campaign. LZ Events is honoured to have been part of such a meaningful project and remains committed to supporting initiatives that make a positive difference in South African communities.
